Kelsey Parker admits ‘I was really lonely and just wanted someone’ and says ‘there’s no wrong way to grieve’ in emotional first interview about new love after death of The Wanted star husband Tom

Kelsey Parker has opened up about how she felt really lonely after the death of The Wanted star Tom Parker.

The mother-of-two told Ranvir Singh on Friday’s episode of Lorraine that she never expected to have to deal with something as difficult as the death of a partner at her age.

And while she admitted she was still grieving, she discussed finding love again after being widowed at 32.

Kelsey explained that she initially found it difficult to put herself out there and date because she worried about the backlash.

She said, “There is no wrong or right way to grieve. We all talk about time, when is the right time to move on, but I don’t think there is a right time and with the cards I’ve been dealt, I have to roll with those cards.”

And while she admitted she was still grieving, she discussed finding love again “organically” with her new partner Will Lindsay, 27.

She added: ‘I never thought I would be a widow at the age of 32 with two children.’

Kelsey explained that she met her new boyfriend, Will Lindsay, organically after deciding not to try dating apps for fear that people would think she had “moved on” and forgotten about her pop star husband Tom.

She told Ranvir: “We met friends, he was out with a group of guys and I was out with a group of girls and we just clicked.

‘I just wanted to meet someone authentic. I couldn’t have done the dating app, I was so scared and it was people’s judgment about moving on and meeting someone, but everyone is so supportive.

“The love I have been shown is so amazing.”

She revealed that her in-laws are very supportive of her new love life and have been helping her since her husband’s death.

‘I have such a great village and together with Tom’s parents they have supported me with everything I have decided to do and they understand how difficult it is.’ she said.

She went on to say that although she still loves Tom and that he is ‘alive’ in their home, she was lonely and wanted someone to share her life with.

She confessed: ‘Tom lives like this at our house and we talk about him every day. We still process it every day, why does this happen to us?

‘We’re still having conversations but it’s about finding happiness and with friends and family there’s only so much they can do and it’s lovely to have someone you can unload on in an evening.

“I was so lonely and I just wanted someone.”

She added that she feels such a strong bond with her tree surgeon partner, 27, because he also experienced the death of a loved one at a young age.

Will, who comes from a close-knit family in Kent, suffered his own heartbreak in 2017 when his father David died aged 21, aged just 50.

Kelsey added that her life had been turned upside down and wanted people to be kinder to those who were grieving.

She said that while people may have thought she had the perfect life, she still has hard days.

She said: “I’m navigating my life, a life I never thought I would have.

‘I had the perfect life, my husband and two children. Tom was a pop star, who wouldn’t want that?

“But my life has been turned upside down, so I want a little more kindness, because you haven’t been in my shoes even a day.”

Kelsey became a widow in March 2022 when her husband Tom – best known as a member of The Wanted – died at the age of 33 after a battle with brain cancer.

Two years later, she has revealed she is in a new relationship with her tree surgeon partner, who she met while raising money in honor of her late husband.

And the loved-up couple were spotted sharing a romantic kiss during a family holiday in Whitstable last week.

The two enjoyed a romantic walk on the beach with her children Amelia, five, and Bodhi, three.

Walking hand in hand, the couple laughed together as they lifted Bodhi into the air and waved him back and forth as Amelia played.

Kelsey, dressed in a casual hoodie and comfortable pants, looked happier than ever.

Just days before announcing her new romance, Kelsey revealed to The Sun that she finally felt lifted out of the “fog” of grief and was now in a “better place.”

A source told the publication: ‘Will and Kelsey hit it off earlier this year and he has been incredibly supportive of her.’

‘He recently helped her at a charity football match for Tom Parker and has attended other events.

‘She hasn’t been shy about their romance and the pair looked very much in love at a gala last week.’

Kelsey said she feels in a much better place than she was in the year after Tom’s tragic death.

“I’m in a better place than I was. I think I went straight back to work because at the end of the day I was like, ‘S***, I have to take care of the kids,'” she said.

“Now I feel lighter and I feel like I can see more clearly,” she added. “I think I had an out-of-body experience.”
