Jamie Foxx’s special Netflix comedy teaser drops after Diddy rumor

Jamie Foxx’s special Netflix comedy teaser drops after Diddy rumor

Jamie Foxx is back in action.

On Friday, Netflix released the teaser for the comedian’s comedy special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…”, which will be released on December 10.

In the 18-second clip, Foxx is heard saying, “I said, ‘If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.’ I’m back.”

The news follows a report that the ‘Soul’ actor spoke about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs being ‘responsible’ for his hospitalization, which took place last year while filming the Netflix show.

However, three eyewitnesses who attended tapings of Foxx’s comedy show had different memories of what the star said.

Earlier this month, Choke No Joke, a videographer, told Comedy Hype that he attended two of Foxx’s three shows, which were taped at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta on October 4, 5 and 6.

The next day, Comedy Hype uploaded a YouTube video in which Choke said, “Jamie has a coming out special on Netflix called ‘What Had Happened Was,’ and I went to the taping of it. It was three days of recording. I went to the first show; I went to the last show.”

Choke claimed that Foxx stated that “Diddy was responsible for what happened to him, and (Foxx) is the one who called the FBI (Combs).”

Choke added: “I don’t think he was joking.”

“You guys can decide if he was joking or not when you see the show, because to me, I’m a new comedian, right? …I know when someone is making up a punchline, and I know when you’re being serious,” the videographer continued, noting that he “didn’t want to give away (Foxx’s) jokes.”

“After (Foxx) said, ‘Diddy did something to me,’ he said, ‘And I’m the one who called the FBI on him,’” Choke echoed, saying the actor may have done this because he “ was afraid. ”

“He’s gone, right? He’s out now, as soon as Puff went to jail, right? We’ll see him at the game with (Dallas Cowboys owner) Jerry Jones, right? … We didn’t see him. As soon as Puff went to jail, (Foxx) was at the damn football game in Dallas, right? And now he was just going to film his special. And who is the special strongly based on? Diddy,” he continued.

According to Choke, Foxx and Combs, 54, were “bros” until something reportedly caused the end of their friendship.

Choke told Page Six that he was shocked when he heard Foxx’s alleged claims out loud, but that he had heard the rumors before.

He also noted that phones were confiscated prior to the shows.

Security guard Big Homie .CC also claimed in an interview with Cam Capone News last week that he had inside information about what happened between the former friends.

“I know that (Combs) poisoned Jamie Foxx, and Jamie Foxx reported him to the FBI because of that… Jamie Foxx reported this man to the FBI because of it.”

Big Homie claimed to Page Six that his knowledge was based on hearing Foxx tell his story during the taping of his comedy shows, which Big Homie attended with a client.

However, a third spectator had a different memory of the recordings.

Dennis LA White explained to Page Six that he went to the second and third tapings of the show and he claimed he heard Foxx share something along the lines of, “People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If that were the case, I would have been dead.”

In 2023, Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx revealed that her father “experienced a medical complication.” In May, she confirmed that he had “been out of hospital recovering for weeks.”

“Some people said I was blind. But as you can see, the eyes work. The eyes work fine,” he said in a July Instagram video. “I’m not paralyzed. But I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery also had some holes. But I’ll be back and I can work.’
